In 1949, Globe introduced the KD4G Quail target. The KD4G-1 was a high-wing design powered by a 26 kW (35 hp) Kiekhaefer O-45-35 piston engine. It was catapult-launched and recovered by gliding to touchdown on land or water. The KD4G-2 was identical except for a different type of engine. The KD4G series was not produced in quantity.
